This book was made using the ROD style or Remains of the Day. I took an online class last year called Remains of the Day. The class teaches a style of sewing scraps of paper together into a single sheet. A sort of ephemera quilt. They make beautiful scrapbooks or the new trendy term "Smash Books. "
This method is a little busy so unless someone orders a "quilted" journal I don't normally do an entire journal of sewn pages. Not to mention it's very time consuming but the end result is absolutely beautiful and worth the effort.
The cover of this book is one of my favorites! I love the layers and the different colors and the entire process of creating them. There is nothing better than having your hands covered in paint, a floor scattered with ephemera scraps, and a cold cup of coffee. Each book begins the same way with two pieces of chipboard and a sheet of muslin cloth but the end result is something truly unique.
