We are surrounded by fresh herbs, sprouting veggies, and as the sun warms up, the sweet scent of jasmine hangs in the air. We are loving our new backyard.
We have the sweetest little hummingbird that loves to investigate what we are doing and play in the sprinklers when they kick on. We also have a hungry chipmunk that managed to get my strawberries and fresh lettuce...
Tomorrow we are having our first BBQ of the season. We are bringing homemade mojito's, fresh from our garden. I'm going to infuse 3 different species of mint and lemon verbena in the simple sugar tonight.... Yesterday I picked up a mint/ginger species so I am excited to give it a try... I was thinking I might even throw in some fresh berries too...
We also have been eating fresh lettuce from our garden when the chipmunk isn't pigging out:) I can't tell you what a difference it makes to eat something fresh from your own garden. The taste is phenomenal!
Always nice to have fresh herbs and goodies from your own garden. You did a nice job on it. I'll think of you when we are having coffee on our back deck overlooking the butterfly garden.
ReplyDeleteThe next time you are out for a visit we will have to have a pitcher of mojito's in the backyard! By then I will have perfected the recipe.
DeleteI bet you are loving you peaceful deck too! The perfect way to start your day:)
What a rare treat to happen on the Poobird "campsite" at the Gold Show. We almost missed the best booth in the show. You guys were terrific, and made our day. We just loved the "campsite" flavor and seeing your natural artifacts. Oh by the way the "goldbag" produced 8 "colors" and we were very happy. I had my neighbor kids do the panning, with my supervision, and they are believers now. That red soil is interesting and I`m looking to get another bag just for fun. We too collect from the desert and enjoy the feeling of the ol` west and the mining period. To spend a day with you guys in the desert sounds like a whole bunch of fun. It might be a bit to rustic for the wife, but anywhere my lil` truck can go I`m a happy camper. Thanks for taking the time to set up the booth and sharing your super personalities. We wish you well, and just love the Blog site.
ReplyDeleteDave & Shirley,
DeleteIt was such a pleasure to meet you and I am thrilled you found us on the blog. You always have a welcome invitation to the claim with us. We would love to share our little patch of desert with you and sit around the campfire hearing about your adventures. We are lucky to have meet another great couple.
And we are glad the kids had fun with the PayDirt... We are going back down soon and if the material is rich we will let you know... The kids will definitely get the Gold Fever then:) Take care
