A Refill for Tokyo, Japan
I always love when I have a commission for a design... The process of designing something special for a person to use on their trip and document their journey makes me truly happy. I love the fact that something I have made is being used, loved, and traveling the world! To think it all started in my little office and then set off to far away places.
Everything starts out as ideas and sheets of blank paper... Thanks to a friend that traveled to Tokyo and was kind enough to bring me home some of his travel ephemera I had some fun inspiration to work with. I love playing with little bits of ephemera. The textures, patterns, and colors are always inspiring.
For me, the best souvenirs from a trip are the little pieces of paper... That receipt for the best pistachio gelato, or a ticket stub from the bullet train, a crumpled boarding pass... All of these little scraps tell a story, evoke a memory.
This little notebook is going to look amazing after it's grand adventure in Tokyo, Japan!
