The Evolution of Journals

It's a curious thing how life unfolds and you find yourself walking down a path so perfect you could never have even dreamed it possible. It was like a perfect storm blew into my life and everything that I love doing came together in one perfect little package, my Journals.

This past year I decided to open a little shop in Vegas and I filled it with all my vintage treasures and handmade goodies. For a while now I have been re-discovering long forgotten treasures and breathing new life into them. I thought I was ready to transition from internet sales to a brick and mortar shop. So I took a leap of faith and jumped in... It was the best thing I could have ever done! Although the shop didn't work out, I learned a lot about myself and where my passion lies.

As you walked in the door of my little shop, an old piece of luggage lay open with a family of Whooty Owls welcoming everyone to step inside. Curtains of tulle and paper flowers softened the harsh windows and vintage trinkets were positioned around the tiny space. Sitting in an old, tweed piece of luggage were three of my very first, handmade Journals. I sat them there not sure if anyone would care for them and within a month I had sold every single journal and had two custom orders. I found myself having a hard time doing anything else but make journals and I was thrilled with this revelation! Below are a collection of some of my previous journals:

The entire process of designing and creating a journal and then giving it to someone so they can document their life makes me burst with joy. I put so much love and thought into each journal so others will have the perfect companion throughout their life journey.

So far I have had journals criss-cross the U.S. and even abroad... They have ventured to Israel, Italy, Barcelona, Costa Rica, Paris, and Germany. I would love to see these journals make their way to every continent! Oh, the stories they could tell:)

Below is a video of a recent journal I made for an Island girl heading off to Paris. This is my first attempt at a video but it gives you a good idea of how the SmashBook style journal unfolds.

More videos to come in the future:)
